About 5 km away are the famous and beautiful Nauyaca Falls. Don Lulo and his wife can take you on a horseback ride to the falls and give you breakfast on the way.
Up the coast 4 km is the wonderful Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge where you can take guided or self-guided walks in the forest, try out their zip-line or get hoisted over 100 feet in the air and observe the forest canopy from a very safe platform.
Dominical is renowned as a surfing beach where you can take lessons at one of many surfing schools or find a supplier of the equipment you need.
You can visit Parque Reptilandia, the South Pacific Zone's only reptile and amphibian park, where you can observe these magnificent animals in lush, natural settings.
There are two National Parks within driving distance. South along the excellent highway is Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, and 40 km north on a road which is pretty bad now, but will be paved by the end of 2008, is Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio.
